Technical report of IEICE. SANE, 98(215) 59-66, Jul 24, 1998MUSES-C is a sample return mission program of ISAS toward the asteroid NEREUS. The mission requires innovative guidance and navigation control technology such as interplanetary cruise, approach toward the asteroid, touch-down, and take-off.This paper reports the development of four sensors, star tracker, lidar, laser range finder, fan beam sensor, for guidance and navigation control system of MUSES-C.

IEICE technical report. Electron devices, 93(403) 41-48, Dec 17, 1993Microwave and millimeter wave emission from a rotating electron beam in a circular wiggler magnetic field(circular free electron laser)has been studied.The circular wiggler which consists of a coaxial waveguide and an azimuthally periodic magnetic field is compact as compared with conventional liner FEL. Radiation frequency was observed to be typically 11-35GHz using a mildly relativistic electron beam of energy less than 500kV, about 100A current and about 8,μs pulse width.The total radiation power was about 1.8MW at 11.35GHz£TM(7,1)mode!.
